Button It Up + Handmade Nation
I have a new craft book out this spring, Button It Up!
It has 80 projects to make with vintage (or new) buttons, from jewelry to housewares, embellishments, toys, and gifts. You can find signed copies in my Etsy shop or track it down at your local bookstore or on Amazon.
I have a book site set up at buttonitupbook.com with lots more about it — sneak peeks, project extras, resources, reviews, and upcoming events (my next one will be at Maker Faire in late May). And I set up a button blog and flickr pool with lots of photos of vintage buttons and book projects, if you want to check those out, too!
I’m also super excited about Handmade Nation, which is premiering in Portland this weekend and touring all over the place. I can’t wait to see it.
The film was made by my friend Faythe Levine — she traveled over 19,000 miles and visited 50 cities to interview folks about the state of the craft. I am so honored to be included in both the film and her companion book — thank you, Faythe!
ps: as you’ve probably noticed with the full year between posts and all, I don’t update this front page too often now that I’m not running a shop here, but you can find what I have for sale on Etsy, check out my West Coast Crafty blog for tons more day-to-day stuff or contact me through this site…
